After an observer was killed during an ICE operation in Minneapolis, someone in the crowd yelled a sentence that did not sound rehearsed, strategic, or polite. It sounded like recognition.

This video, circulating online, captured moments after the killing, when once again ICE claimed someone "weaponized a vehicle" as an excuse for excessive force. — Read the rest

Multiple videos are out now, of course. Lots of folks calling it "unjustified" etc. Reddit goons are doing their usual goon ways.

Here's my take:

The dead woman in question is being identified as something as a "Legal Observer". These are folks that routinely follow law enforcement around to provide "eye witness accounts" to law enforcement operations.

in Minnesota, the definition is less about a specific statute in the criminal code and more about a court-ordered protection resulting from the Goyette v. City of Minneapolis lawsuit.

Under the terms of the Goyette Injunction (which is still the active standard for law enforcement in the state), an observer is defined by these criteria:
  • The Gear: They must be clearly identified with "indicia." In Minnesota, this specifically means the green National Lawyers Guild (NLG) hats or blue ACLU vests.
  • The Behavior: They must be "solely present" to observe and record. If they start chanting, holding a sign, or blocking traffic, they lose their "observer" status and are legally treated as protesters.
  • The Right to Stay: Unlike the general public, if the police declare an "unlawful assembly" and order a dispersal, legal observers in Minnesota have a court-protected right to stay and continue recording, provided they do not interfere with arrests.

The videos show an officer in front of the SUV as the person tries to drive away AFTER refusing to follow the verbal orders. Officer in front of the SUV fires through the windshield and side window and fatally wounds the driver. Generally ICE policy is to NOT shoot at or in to a moving vehicle.

We don't know WHY they tried to make her exit the vehicle. ( we do now, as of 9 Jan) ICE generally do NOT have law enforcement authority to interdict in typical policing that is considered local in nature. They CAN, in fact, take action if they feel endangered, etc.

The "legal observer" should have NOT tried to drive away with a PERSON in front of the SUV. This is something a normal person can interpret when stress and chaos are not clouding the situation.

The "Legal Observer" standard means YOU are not to take part in the protest or police actions themselves, if you do you are no longer protected by the "observer" policy.

The chaos of the situation led to the death. ICE vehicles being blocked, ICE vehicles and officers conducting operations in an area with hostile citizens AND illegal immigrants chanting and being disruptive to public order. Anger, chaos, fear, perceived threats, real threats.

SHE is not a terrorist like the Orange Menace and his Henchmen state she is, she made a mistake that got her killed.

The officer is not a "murderer". He used dumb ass tactics that led to a legal response with force. He won't be charged with unlawful use of deadly force. Charged with other things? Not likely during the current administration.

Want to fix this? Get your State to formally outlaw police tactics that directly lead to this sort of thing, don't let them box a vehicle in with HUMAN barricade techniques, its dumb and it doesn't work anyway. Many agencies already teach not to do this, but it needs to be codified into actual policy.

Appealing to Trump wont fix this. Voting wont help much either, both parties have had full control of government multiple times in my adult life and have done fuck all to PASS LAWS that would curtail out of lane, out of bounds Presidential power. Dems wont do it the next time around either.

Good luck.

This is the right take. He needs training, not a firing squad. That being said, the official White House's take is that he's a hero and the victim was a domestic terrorist. You're all like 'pASS lAWS! duh!'

How about don't elect con-man authoritarians into the presidency? Then maybe we wouldn't have to rely on luck, bud. I'm just saying if you voted for him, you don't get to put this on other people. You did this. Own it or shut the fuck up.

You're not wrong. We do need to pass new laws as you say.

Like, I'm even being generous and giving a complete pass to anyone who voted for him in 2016. Because who knew? But you fuckers who voted for him twice trying to advise me about how to fix the problem you keep creating is infuriating.

But you fuckers who voted for him

You are just wrong, kemohsabe.

Had Congress not abdicated their power in 2001 with that shit fuck policy called the "Patriot Act" and others in the 20 years * that followed then Trump could not ram rod his way into a Police State. (* and even earlier than that if you want to nit pick)

Your Democrats voted for this shit along with the Republicans.

A president, regardless of how much of a shit bag he is, should not be able to wrest power so easily from the other branches. If Congress were as properly powerful as the Constitution says they SHOULD BE then the American people voting in a Turd would not have caused so much fucking trouble as it has this time.

Trump does what he does because Dems and Repubs gave up power. Plain and simple.

Enough video evidence has come out to make a pretty clear picture.

1. She was no innocent "mother" murdered while sitting in her car after pulling out of her driveway.. (Reddit Narrative)
2. He is no monster that stalked and targeted her. (Reddit Narrative)
3. He should not have been in Front of the vehicle (policy and procedure violation)
4. She should not have tried to drive away and he should not have fired into a moving vehicle. (chaos made this worse)

She clearly was there to impede and cause chaos. Blocking traffic in a residential neighborhood is NOT peaceful protest, its anarchism designed specifically to impede government actions. (not terrorism)

Clearly she needed to not be blocking traffic, and clearly ICE can interact with a person blocking traffic if it directly hinders their operations. CLEARLY the scene escalated and she died because of that.

Not murder. But he wont get a fair trail there, if State prosecutor opens a case now or years from now, no way in hell.

Her "I'm not mad at you dude" were not the last words on an angel, there were sarcasm and mockery. His "fucking bitch" were not the words of a monster. (if he legitimately feared he was going to be run over, YOU or I don't know this for sure either way)

Yet another internet sleuth gonnery orgasm fest. Nothing changes.

The same people who cheered when Charlie Kirk was murdered are aghast that someone who willingly puts themselves in harm's way, suffers the consequences. Both are tragic losses for their families and loved ones. Starkly different circumstances, however.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

The entire situation is fucked up. Minnesota officials can be quoted saying that the dead woman was just "observing her 1st amendment rights"
(CNN even parroted this at a later time)

Since when is blocking a residential street with a running vehicle a 1st amendment right?

Politicians on the left are saying that citizens should hound the ICE agents (it can be a federal crime to impede a federal agent).

Politicians on the right are saying its an act of terror to impede ICE. (clearly it is not)

The leftist retards live and breath in a fucking sewer of stupidity. The Orange menace Goons are just as retarded.

Agreed. The divisiveness is by design. It's a game of one upmanship, with each side claiming the moral high ground. In truth, neither side is without fault.

I'm all for freedom of expression, but this current air of lawlessness and repugnant behavior is making this country a laughing stock. We're quickly degrading our status as world leader.

Like it or not the leftist mouth breathers are your way out of this mess that you've carelessly created. Your welcome.
As usual.

If you mean the "gun grabbers" "open borders" "kids are trannies too" "too many regulations" "fake diversity" crowd? If you mean THOSE people then nope, all they will bring about is yet another pendulum swing somewhere down the line.

Just like LAST anti trump vote that got us Biden, once again there is a chance to bring this ship to the CENTER, but no, the leftists will go all the way back to the far left and breed yet another swing years after.

Sure thing buddy.

I mean, you're not wrong at all. 100% what's likely to happen is that the left will take this win, do a bunch of shit that doesn't really fix any problems but pisses off the right, and ride on the high of public support until they've pissed it all away. Just like the right is doing right now. Both sides ad nauseum.

The only way out of this mess is to get money out of politics and regulate big business in the same way we did in response to the robber baron crisis; which, by the way, is ten times worse now than it was during the actual gilded age. The leftist mouth breathers are the only ones even treating it like an issue. At this point I would vote for a republican that wanted to arm every citizen, close our borders indefinitely, label trans children as domestic terrorists, and put the bible back in schools as long as they also wanted to end "money is free speech" and rampant unshackled open corruption that is today's government.

It's not a left vs right fight. It's up vs. down. The mouth breathers are the only ones talking about it.
